Two of my paintings were recently accepted into the juried competition "Inspired: Portraits of Historic West Virginia Figures" at the WV State Museum in Charleston, WV. The show highlights figures important to West Virginia history and culture. "Captain Brown contemplating his mission" is clearly portraying the contraversal John Brown of Harpers Ferry infamy. Depicting him in a moment before carrying out his fateful mission. He made it clear to his family and followers that he did not expect to come away from his mission alive.
